Electrolysis Course Description

The objective of the Electrolysis course is to offer a comprehensive study in electrolysis, thermolysis, blend epilation, sterilization and sanitation as well as marketing strategies. The vocational competencies to be attained by the graduate are to assist clients with the permanent removal of superfluous hair. Upon completion of this course you will be confident in the permanent hair removal process. You will be able to work in an established salon or start your own business.

Updated materials, articles, and magazines from different Electrology associations will also be studied. Students will review videotape presentations of Electrolysis,Thermalysis, Blend and Galvanic methods.

In addition, there will be classroom discussion and demonstration on each other regarding these methods. There will be a quiz following each section of study, a mid-term, and a final exam. A final average of 70% is required to complete the course.

The student will gain hands-on experience working with other students as well as paying clients. You will learn through practical experience the appropriate methods of insertion, conditions for pre and post treatment, sanitation, and pain management for your client. 175 , 300 clock hours courses are also offered as refresher and intermediate under this program. The 600 clock hours or 31 credit hours, course also prepares the students to take the Maryland Electrolysis Board exam.
